Happy New Year

Well the coffee saga continues they decided to give the hotel coffee another try but this time I made it and sprinkled chocolate over the top....ummm, the chocolate was good but the faces that they pulled after the mouthful went down was hilarious....I did tell the lady that worked there that I was putting the chocolate on top to make it taste better and she just laughed...she knew there was no way that coffee was ever going to taste good......Greg headed straight to Starbucks and came back with a coffee, Dan is going to get one when we leave here...Off to China today we are catching the 1.00pm train have to do the 2 lots of immigration so will probably take a while nothing here is quick.....
Dan & I went to the products expo last night it was all in Cantonese and was a bit like our Easter Show where people sell all their stuff....we did buy some Nano coat stuff it waterproof's everything even a tissue....we stood there for probably 15 minutes listening to a lady  talk about it with not an idea in the world about what she was saying...Have to tell you about the toilets they are just weird, as you use it  the water level gets higher, yep I am thinking that it could be rather awkward if you were busting and it overflowed...then when you flush it goes up to the top and then sucks it all down....just had to share that with you.....Happy New Year to you all hope that 2015 brings you all  health, happiness and love....xxxx
Happy New Year Hong Kong style

Inside the products expo, it cost us 84 cents each admission, was a bit of fun....

Another angle of the most amazing parking job, it still fascinates me how they got that close.

The entrance of the product expo, there was so much food stuff but not really sure what most of the stuff was....

Ngong Ping 360

Well the coffee situation is getting ridiculous, the hotel coffee was bad again so the boys did their share of complaining.....Starbucks was a port of call today but in a different place & that was better than yesterday's but still not to their liking...we had lunch up at Ngong Ping and they ordered coffee there and you guessed it....awful bitter coffee....so now they are thinking that is the way that they like it....so it could be a long wait for a decent coffee for the boys....
We did the gondola up to the Buddha at Ngong Ping, it took around an hour to get to the front of the line and then a 20 minute trip up to the top....they have new gondola's that have a glass bottom, it's a pretty cool way of seeing what is under you....We have had no luck with our shopping everything has either been more expensive than it is at home or just junkie stuff....we are not defeated yet though.......heading into China tomorrow so hopeful that we can find some nice presents to bring home......
Can't see our Abb's being too happy if I gave her Belgium carrots for dinner.

Bamboo scaffolding anyone....

Dog parking, same as above our girl would not be happy to be parked there...

This dog was so good he/she sat there for so long, I was tempted to take it with me....don't think that I would get it through Customs though.

Hire bikes, I did suggest that it would be fun to go for a ride but no the other three thought it was a bad idea..

And they pack up so well...

Pity about the reflection but you get the idea..

So smoggy today I knew yesterday was a rare event.

Glass bottom gondola...

Just to prove that Dan and I walked the 4 million stairs to the top and Greg and Ethan stayed at the bottom, such lazy peeps...

Think that there is a word missing on this sign, cause no one will do what they are asking...buy 4 get 2.

Just a few of our friends on the afternoon train...

What the hell is this parking called? it was the closest parking job I have ever seen...talent or stupidity? Just lucky it wasn't me parking the result would not have been the same..

From the top of the 4 million stairs...

Ethan did some training at the track last night......in the morning there is a Tai Chi group there that have swords flapping around....probably not a good idea to run while they are doing that...

The Peak and Stanley Markets

This is the first time that we have been in Hong Kong and have seen blue sky, today was just lovely around 20 degrees....the smog was there but it looks to be so much better than it was in the past....
We headed up to The Peak on the tram, had a look around on the observation deck and then headed down to the shops for a fuel stop.....Greg and Dan have had no luck on the coffee front and up there proved no different....The coffee at the hotel was awful, their words, then they tried Starbucks and for two coffees it was $10 AUD, Dan didn't like that one....at The Peak Greg had one at Delifrance and Dan had a hot chocolate they both said it was just a flavoured hot milk.....tomorrow is another day....they are on the hunt for a decent coffee...

Balloons at the restaurant waiting for New Year's Eve celebrations.

One of the newer office buildings in the city.

Now not sure what the hell this bread is but it's black with some sort of cheese on top...Just tastes like normal bread...

The Peak tram...

Looking down from The Peak...

And from the other side...

I want, I want, I want...these were Christmas trees that they shipped in from the USA, these were leftovers the one in the front was about $250 AUD..they smelt amazing and looked fabulous..I told the guy to ship them into Australia I would so be at the front of the line for one of them...

Now last year they kept telling us there was no jumbo size for Greg well not the problem here..

And a panorama...

Good Morning from Hong Kong

We are finally here after a long day of travelling yesterday we got into Hong Kong last night....had a good flight went Sydney to Brisbane and then Brisbane to Hong Kong, Craig,  David and David got us here safely and without too much turbulence...always a good thing....the food on the plane was nice, what is it about sitting there that makes you want to keep eating...watched 2 movies and a couple of trashy English documentaries.....It was so smoggy when we came in you couldn't see the mountains as we were coming in......

Dan's Ginger Pork with rice

Khlong Saen Saep boat ride.....

Well how much fun can you have for 10 baht about 35 cents aud, take a ride on one of these babies, they go so fast and there are so many amazing things to see along the way....
Ethan is still not well so another quiet day for him, Dan and I hit the river for our "cruise" they pull up at the wharf and you have to jump on, no ramp or steps or anything like that just some tyres that are attached to the side of the boat and if you get on at the back the gap is huge....there are some really nice people in this world that helped me get on and off......one lady came back and got me and then asked us where we were going and gave us directions, we didn't need them as we could see the hotel from the wharf.....she was so lovely......
We took it to the end and then they made us get off and get back on again not sure why when we could have just stayed on but never mind I climbed off only to try and get back on while the boat was trying to leave the wharf.....deadlines I think.....I am still rocking, remember our 3 day cruise and I rocked for a week after it.....There are these plastic tarps that pull up the side to stop the splash of the bow wave and splash it does, if you fell into the water you would be a goner it is so filthy..there was a lady with a plastic basket fishing off her back door into the river I am certain that anything that survived this river would be awful to eat....
Greg and Dan have gone off to take a train ride this afternoon and I think they are going to go on the boat as well......It is so hot and humid today I would hate to be here in summer, it would be unbearable......
All the different drinks at the buffet breakfast...

Pastries at breakfast

Dan did this to Greg's breakfast this morning and we were all laughing even the table next to us....

And another wine fridge....

The smog was really bad this morning...

River boats...

Bikes coming at us....

Boat driver...

The clearance is not very much under the bridges, the people that collect the money all have helmets on and have to duck to get under them...

Homes on the river...

Washing day....

Plastic tarp that stops the water coming in, it does work really well...

Not sure what this place was but compared to everywhere else it was really well kept..

Our guy getting ready to duck...

The plants hang over the river...

Our guy with helmet...they hang off the side holding onto a rope and that is all...

The motor....

Bow wave...

The trees with their roots trying to get the water...

Ducks in the cage over the river, a lot of the homes have cages like these ones....

Another tree hanging over the river.....
