Fresh food market not for the faint hearted....

We have had the best day so many things to see and we have only seen a few European people, we do get some strange looks when we are in the alleyways.......I packed a pair of jeans that needed taking up and today we found a little alleyway with a few ladies in it with sewing machines, problem was I didn't want to sit there in my undies....she pulls out a pair of black pants and sends me into the stairway to get changed....then a guy comes in and has to wait for me to get out of the way so he can go up the stairs to his house...most have no English at all but we did get there in the end...$5 Yuan and they were all done...Heaps of things I keep forgetting about, the taps in the shower are so weird here you have to turn them in different directions to get the water right it's so confusing you either freeze or burn yourself......I just love  bubble tea it's my treat and I thought that I would be able to get it in Hong Kong but no we didn't see anywhere that sold it...we come here and they have some kinds of bubble tea but I'm not game to try it, looks like it will have to wait till I get home....bugger....Oh and no laundries here so it looks like I will need to get something tonight or I have to start wearing inside out....but don't worry I don't think anyone will notice it smells so bad here one more smelly person won't make that much difference....
Breakfast in the hotel this morning.

Walking street at around 10.00am this morning, you can not move now...

My ironing/mending lady...take note Lynette

This little pig was in a cage out the front of a shop I don't think it was for sale I think it was a pet..well I was hoping it's a pet...

Not sure why you would keep this as a pet but each to their own...

Hey little piggie...

Sad and awful, thinking it's a tiger pelt not sure how they are allowed to sell them...but they seem to have everything here. They had heaps of rino horn as well....

Tiger paws and horns off deer I suppose...

I was hoping that they weren't real but unfortunately I think that they are...

Now it's not my cup of tea but someone will love it....

Tanks and planes made out of bullets, try and explain that one coming through Customs...

The egg lady on her push bike...

Pretty sure this is Jade in it's raw form...

Chicken tonight?

Or would you prefer scorpions?

Now this was bizarre, where would they get this from...I wonder if we export crocodile...

This place was just gorgeous it looked so old...

This is how the alleyways look so rustic and untouched...

Yep need all of these as well...

Fish markets...

Turtle for dinner....anyone

Bit different to how we buy our meat at the butchers...

Mmmmm, crocodile foot, not sure what you would do with this and I really don't want to find out...

Guangzhou part 2...

Had a bit of a sleep in this morning after Greg's alarm went off at 5.00am lucky that we were able to go back to sleep for a while otherwise today may not have been too pretty.......must tell you about the step count on our watches, Ethan has the best one a 920 Garmin (thank you Kellie) mine is a cheapie, Dan and Greg have ones that read emails like a Maxwell Smart watch, anyway I am usually the one that has the most steps, on the plane I did about a 1000 steps even though I only got up twice, now that's is my kind of step counter...I am usually around 16000, Greg and Dan way behind me and the other night when Ethan went to the track to run he came in at 26000....not sure just how accurate they are but at least there is some sort of exercise going on.....Have run out of clothes this morning so it's recycle time and we must go shopping and find some stuff today, haven't even found a laundry and we really need some washing done so that is also on the agenda.....Ethan has brought heaps of new sports stuff they brought undies last night and instead of Calvin Klein they are something  Ken well close enough....the boys think that they are hilarious....have the worst hayfever possible am living on antihistamines at the moment it's certainly not from the pollen......

Ever wondered what is inside a escalator, well you don't need to anymore...

Scenery on the train trip yesterday...

The boys room, it looks out to the Pearl River...

Ok maybe it can see a millimetre of the Pearl River

Our room, we just overlook houses....

Coming up to lunchtime and not sure what you want. take a look at these yummies....

Guangzhou

What a difference a day makes, we have made it into China and boy is this place amazing...we caught the train up here a quick 2 hour trip and it was so smooth and comfortable ....we left earlier than the scheduled time, not sure what that was about got here a little later than the scheduled time but it was certainly more efficient and comfortable than what we have at home....took forever to get to the hotel well everything here takes forever.....we have just came back in from a walk around Walking Street and I wish that I could give you the sounds and smells....the place is thick with cigarette smoke and the smells of so many different foods, the most disgusting is the tripe and offal bubbling away, not sure how you would be able to eat it but they must do.....everything is so loud & they have music blaring in all the shops and people out the front banging signs and screaming at the top of their lungs to get you to come into their shop...it really is a eye opener, can't see it being too successful in Sydney..my hair smells of smoke just like I had been in a club or pub back in the day when you could smoke inside.....oh and legs are a bit sore today from the 4 million steps yesterday.......the boys have gone for a massage....oh I forgot they had the coffee on the train and it was another fail....new hotel they can try again in the morning.....
Can you imagine the surprise when you see the Opera House and Koala's in their Christmas decorations.

I'm thinking that Trisha can use these at her place this Christmas, will make them a offer...

Goldfish at the pet shop these had the best colour..

Not exactly sure what the sign is saying but if you look closely it is Sydney with landmarks from Dubai, New York, Shanghai..we don't need to travel any more we can just pop down to Circular Quay.

It's the Police Highway patrol pursuit car....bahaha

I think this was a railway museum on the way up here...

Dan's Go Pro doing it's thing on the window, stay tuned for some video Grandpa...

This was the train we were at the top and had a 4 seats facing each other with a table in the middle...

Coming out of Guangzhou station..

What every hotel room needs, hopefully they will never be needed....though could come in handy doing the shopping..

They told me what they were but I can't remember the sign says the bigger ones are $1 each and the smaller ones are around 35 cents each.

Turtles, they had so many of them mainly small ones...

Little gerbils, of course Ethan wanted one...

Apparently its a Chinchilla...

One of the many gourd shops the one hanging down that looks like a pumpkin was so cool but another shop a few doors up had a better one that had a twisted stem...

This door was just stunning it looked like it had been there for a very long time there were shops either side of it that had the roller shutters but this place just seemed like it was stuck in another time...

Walking Street, though the buses still go down there...

Most of the building are lit up like this.....

Can get a jumbo size here...

Here you go what you all have been waiting for, now I bet you wished this was a smelling blog....not....yum kids dinner.....

On the way back to the hotel, this was about 9.30pm and as you can see by the crowds they don't go to bed with the chickens...
