A relaxing day....

We have had another quiet day today as Ethan is still not 100%.....Greg & Dan went to the computer mall and came back with a new mouse as we think we left the other one in Chiang Mai.....
Greg and I just popped out to go to the fashion mall and the markets and the boys stayed here, Greg is off out again to a shopping centre a few blocks away......
We just crossed the road like locals, there are pedestrian crossings everywhere but unless you are game enough to walk out in front of the cars then you will wait all day to cross as there are no breaks in the traffic and they won't stop to let you cross....so we took the gamble and walked out and just like magic they all stopped...it's really weird how they all push their way into non existent lanes but they don't seem to crash....they are also really patient  and just let people merge.......
Dan said we had a bit of blue sky this afternoon but I missed it, I think that he had blue glasses on as it's not possible.......
We went to the chemist to pick up some ibuprofen, oh my you can buy anything and you don't need a script, anything from antibiotics to anti-depressants, everything really the only thing you can't get is codeine you can only get that in hospital....
I also read that the dogs in Chiang Mai and Bangkok are dingo's and that they are half Indian wolf  & half dog they are called "Mah Pah" in Thai and that translates to Jungle dog don't know if that is right but they really look like our dingo's....there are a lot of them with jackets and collars on but they just seem to wander all over the place....when we were at the markets there was a rescue group with some puppies in a cage we gave some money to them as they must have a massive task with the amount of dogs roaming around.....
Elephant art in the foyer....

Roof top garden, there was a guy out hosing this afternoon....

A giant TV screen on the shopping centre...

The other side of the hotel....

Boys playing some sort of ball game on the roof of the building....

Dessert buffet in the executive lounge....

The flower arrangements are beautiful....

New shoes new anklet, that jingles,I keep looking for Abb's as I walk...

These little shrines are everywhere, hope that's what they are called....sorry if I have it wrong...

mmm, what color and what style wig do you need..

These are human hair that comes from Vietnam, the long ones cost 1000 baht each and are used for hair extensions...

They reminded me of horse tails...the hairdressers buy them....

Cute jackets for little boys.....

The chemist that we went into so many drugs.....

And a few more.

Chiang Mai to Bangkok....

We had a bit of a quiet day yesterday because of Ethan not being well, we caught a taxi to the airport and not any taxi a lovely silver and grey minibus with hot pink leather seats.....it was such a contradiction from the outside to the inside....photo to follow....
A quick flight down to Bangkok and once you get over the smog layer there was a beautiful blue sky with fabulous sunshine....you can't see the sun or blue sky because of the smog and the smog is causing our hay- fever /sinus no ends of trouble......we are so lucky at home as we have nothing like the smog that these places have....looking forward to seeing blue sky's, sun and green grass.......
The taxi driver that brought us to the hotel was so funny, he videoed the kids and I in the back seat to send to his friend, not sure why we would warrant that sort of attention but maybe we looked funny......
We passed a motorcade that had the Prime Minister in it, he then told us that he liked her and was a yellow shirt, the protests are scheduled to start on Monday and there were flyers at the hotel saying that there would be major disruptions when they start and to stay away from the areas that they had listed.....we are lucky that we are not going to be here then......
The taxi driver hit another car while  making another lane, all he did was wave his hand and said oh sorry, and they both drove away, I can't imagine having a nice car here...well it wouldn't be nice for long...
I forgot to tell you that we saw a European couple at the Hill Tribe place and the lady was carrying a dog a little Pomeranian, we thought that they must have lived here and were just out on a Sunday afternoon drive, well we saw them at the markets and I asked them did they live here.....no the lady said they flew in from Belgium, so next question was how did you get the dog in, oh easy he is under 3kgs so he was hand luggage and he was in a crate at my feet under the seat in front for 14 hours.....now Abby I'm sorry but you would not be that well behaved to sit under the seat for 14 hours and then get carried around with 5 million of our nearest and dearest all around us, so you will have to stay with Grandma & Grandpa......
Trisha's Birthday card...

Hopefully this says Happy Birthday Trisha, but it could say anything....

Inside of the pimped up mini bus taxi.....it was so bright...

Golf cart thing at the airport to get you around....

One of the bar's at the hotel....

The last car in the motorcade

The Prime Ministers car....there were Police at the front and back of her....

Inside of the cab, bit different from the pimped up one...

Traffic jam, we must have sat in it for 20 minutes...

There is 2 cement places and to the right is like a shanty town where people are living under tarps and tin shacks.

View from the room down to the river.

More traffic to the other side.....

At the very top of this building where the round thing is there was a man standing there pulling up a rope, from where we are it looks like there is no guard rail or anything but it is very hard to see..

Looking down to the street there is rubbish everywhere in the block to the left....

Our room, that is before we opened all our bags and made a huge mess..

The sitting area in our room.

Bath anyone....

The traffic last night it just doesn't end....
