Hill Tribe Woman and an amazing day.....

I'm making up for it now with two blog posts in one day.....We did the Hill Tribe Tour well we had a lady taxi driver that took us up there and waited patiently for us for 2 long hours....it was amazing so many different tribes with the woman all having something different about them....there were what is commonly termed "Long Necks" the ladies with the gold rings around their necks and there were other tribes that had gold rings around their knees....the ladies with the huge holes in their ears......very trendy now.....
The taxi was so cheap we were gone for 5.5 hours and the taxi cost $500baht which is around $17 Aud we did tip her at the end as well but it really isn't much money.....
We went to the Tiger Island they don't charge to go in but they charge to have your photo taken (one photo was $850 baht for the big tiger) with them but there was a hour wait to do it so we didn't bother...
We also went to the Monkey School they were so cute and very well trained although I would have rather seen them hanging about and swinging than doing all the tricks they did......
Anyway this post is pretty photo heavy so I won't ramble on.....

Ethan with the little dog that was just so cute, except it growled at me and tried to bite me....

See the rings on her knees, these girls don't go to school they make these scarves all day it takes 2 days to make one scarf and they cost $17 Aud for 3 of them....yes there are some coming home how could you not bring some home.

We brought  a smaller table runner very similar to this one,it is embroidered by hand and the one in the pic took 6 months to make ...we also  brought a queen size bedspread that took over a year to make.....

Hello from Chiang Mai

Sorry I have missed a day blogging but have been so busy I have been able to put some pic's up on Facebook though.
We arrived here after a really short 55 minute flight we went up they feed us and we went down, pretty much sums it all up...
It was a shocker at the airport we paid for a taxi inside the terminal along with the whole plane or so it seemed we were to be the third taxi but no taxi's came....so the girl marched us to the taxi stand and told the guy there that we were in front of all the people that were waiting for a taxi....could just see that happening in Sydney....not
There was a really cute Mini at the airport that had 2 passengers in it but the funny thing was they were picking up 2 more adults and 1 child and luggage....yep, would have loved to see how that panned out.....and Greg if they can fit in that car I can fit my groceries in one so next birthday please.......k thanks..x

We just called Greg on the mobile and instead of the normal ring when you make a call it play's Glory Glory to Manchester United it is hilarious....Dan & I just looked at each other we videoed because no one will believe us.....

Ethan and I had a fish foot spa oh my stars that is the weirdest thing I have ever done, those fish suck at you heels to get the dead skin, it's pretty gross really but he wanted to do it.....I could not stop squealing  and then one of the fish jumped out of Ethan's tank.... lucky Dan was there he scoped it up and popped it back in....

The night markets were amazing so much fabulous stuff, a new bag is going to be purchased to get the 8 pairs of shoes I have brought as well as all the stuff from here not that we have brought anything here yet, though Greg did get 2 x Jumbo t-shirts last night.....

Not sure what we are going to do today the boys have just got back and found a cute dog so cute dog pics coming up..Sorry if there are spelling mistakes I don't have time to fix them....we are off to the hill tribes this afternoon......

Happy New Year & no one will guess what we did today.....

We had a quiet New Year went back to our rooms before midnight but did get to see some of the fireworks of course they are nothing like the Sydney fireworks and I think that the illegal ones at home are much bigger than the ones that were here......
So we have spent the day shopping again & the boys today went nuts. I think Dan ended up with 13 t-shirts  & 5 pairs of shorts & Ethan was not far behind with about 9 t-shirts....I got 2 tops and poor Greg ended up with nothing.....he is not a huge guy but he can not get anything that fits....and when they see him they shake their heads and say "no jumbo".....so much for being diplomatic........Even Ethan had to get a XL in some t-shirts and he is skinny at around 53 kilos and much taller than me.......We found a fabulous place today that was all wholesale as long as you brought 3 of something the prices were insane for 14 men's t-shirts we paid $48 so they worked out to be $3.42 each the shorts were about the same price each.....The boys really needed new clothes lucky they have got what they wanted. Grandpa won't know us as we come through that arrivals gate.....

We also had massages in the middle of shopping adventure and we are going back tonight to get another one, the boys just love them.....We were so lucky yesterday the boys went for a massage and Dan left his new sunnies there but he didn't know he had left them, we went there to see if they could get another massage  and the girl (well we are not too sure if she is a girl) came out with them....very, very lucky......
We are off to Chiang Mai tomorrow it's a 50 minute flight from Bangkok.....hopefully I can put some Panda & elephant photo's up in the next few days......

Power lines everywhere, it looks so  dangerous, we are wondering if your power goes out what happens do they just add another cable...
More power lines.....
The pink tarps are market stalls set up along the road....
Broom anyone....
This lady was cooking chicken feet in a cornflour batter then deep frying rather like KFC..
Not sure what this fruit is it was like a nashi pear in texture
The boys shopping for the day...
My tops are on the right, I am going to get that mini even if I have to wear it....necklaces are for Chantel our girl at the bottom of the garden.
Cute cakes at the executive lounge....
This is a outside the kitchen at a tiny restaurant near where we are staying, the kitchen is so small, they must just pick what they need as they want it....

This was the Middle Eastern restaurant from the other night, stainless steel everywhere...
