Day 11....Milford Sound .to Dunedin...

This is what greeted us this morning when we woke up, not the best nights sleep but an experience...

Looking up Milford Sound which is actually a Fiord....

A New Zealand fur seal giving us a wave, they can hold their breath for 9 minutes and go down 200 metres, so when they see you & take off they are gone....

We had to set the sails this morning Ethan getting his bit done...

Seal rock, they were doing their morning exercises....

Milford Sound also have Penguins but they were at sea for another 3 weeks till they come in to moult...3 have washed up in Sydney & one has been tracked to Antartica....

Mirror Lake, we stopped yesterday but it was way to windy...not so this morning...

Not the best shot because the weather was overcast but there were a few Albatrossat the headland at Dunedin..

Day 10 Continued....Milford Sound...On the road into the sound, the senery was pict

On the way into Milford Sound the scenery was picture perfect...

With waterfalls behind us....& the Subaru Legacy, they must have sold heaps of these cars, they are everywhere...

This was just before the one lane tunnel to go through to the Sound...

It's a tight fit for the buses, it's really strange when you go in there, it is 1.2klms long & there are lights to send you through...

Another Glacier...

  Stirling Falls are 150mtrs high & are 3 times the height of Niagra Falls (51mtrs high). This is also the waterfall that Hugh Jackman jumped over in Wolverine.....(he did it on a green screen of course) It is also called the boat wash because that's what you get when you get close to it...

The Wanderer in the background, before dinner we had the choice of water sports, kayak, swimming or going on the tender, Dan & I picked the tender & Greg & Ethan swam.....(silly boys, the water was freezing, they jumped from the top deck into the water)

This is where we stayed for the night, very calm....

The food was the best that we have had so far, the chef had made Curried Sweet Potato Soup, Lamb Shanks with mashed potato, pumpkin & vegs & Chocolate Brownie with ice cream & berry sauce....I may have eaten everyones pumpkin, but I did swap my Lamb Shank for it......Not that they were complaining.....

Day 10... On the way to Milford Sound

Pretty sure we won't get Internet or any other form of civilization when we get there so here is a post till we get back into the techno world... I can't post under the photo's because I am doing it from my phone.....
But here goes, the fish were salmon & trout & a diving duck that can dive 8 meters in 45 seconds....they were under the pier at Queenstown jetty....Greg & I went to the markets this morning sorry people we didn't buy anything mostly food stuff some possum gloves & skins.... dyed red or blue as you do & some really cute dog biscuits some in the shape of poodles & the lady assured me there were no poodles in them......we stumbled upon The Kingston Flyer that was doing little trips we had missed it at the Kingston station but got it at the end of the line......the last photo is of a Tattoo & Body Piercing Bus that must travel around peddling their talents....
